Please note the following about your Sculptra Treatment
Please schedule your treatment at least 4 weeks before any special events you want to attend.
Have a cold?
if you develop a cold, cold sore, blemish or rash in the area to be treated prior to your appointment, please wait at least 2-weeks to reschedule.
Had a Facelift?
Sculptra is not generally recommended if you have a history of surgical facelifts/implants in the past.
Pregnant or Breastfeeding?
Do not receive Sculptra if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
History of a neuromuscular or immunosuppressive disorder?
If you have a history of a neuromuscular or immunosuppressive disorder, we require that you get a signed note from your treating provider authorizing the use of Sculptra.
History of Cold Sores?
If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend you are pretreated with valacyclovir prior to your injections. Please let us know if you need a prescription called into your pharmacy.
4 weeks before treatment
You may not have dental cleaning or dental work.
You may not have surgery of any kind.
You may not have Internal device placement
You may not get any tattoo or permanent makeup treatments
You may not receive any vaccines
2 weeks before treatment
You may not get any facial treatments. These include laser, ultrasound, peel, facials, micro needling and microdermabrasion.
1 week before treatment
Discontinue taking aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Aleve), platelet inhibitors, anticoagulants, fish oil, vitamin E, vitamin A, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, garlic, kava kava, celery root and any other herbal or homeopathic remedies that may contribute to bleeding risk.. Please consult with your primary care provider prior to discontinuing any of these medications.
3 days before treatment
We recommend discontinuing products containing retinols (Retin-A) 3-s to avoid increased redness and irritation.
2 days before treatment
Discontinue drinking alcohol, Niacin and Cigarettes as these may contribute to increased swelling, bruising, and irritation.
Limit caffeine intake.
Day of the Treatment
Do not wear makeup.
After your Appointment
Massage the treatment Area Using The 5-5-5 Rule. Massage areas 5 times a day for 5 minutes each time, for the next 5 days.
If you had Sculptra in the neck, massage one side of the neck at a time, and massage in an upward direction.
For the first 24 hours after treatment
Do not apply makeup for 24 hours.
You should apply cold packs to the treatment areas
For the next 2 days after your treatment
Avoid exercise and vigorous activity
Avoid excessive exposure to sun, extreme heat and extreme cold.
Do not use or take niacin supplements, cigarettes and alcoholic beverages.
Only use gentle cleansers and light washing.
Up to to 2 weeks after your treatment
Do not schedule any medical aesthetic treatments
Up to 4 weeks after your treatment
Do not schedule any dental work, vaccines, surgeries , Tattoos or permanent
Common Side Effects After Sculptra treatments
Common side effects after Sculptra include swelling, bruising, tenderness/soreness, lumps, redness, and itching at the injection sites.
Cold packs can help improve these.
Please notify us immediately if you experience any intense areas pain or significant bruising.
If you have a small bump that remains 5-weeks after your Sculptra treatment, please contact us so we can treat it.
Multiple treatment sessions are typically required, spaced several weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Over the following weeks and months, as the body produces new collagen, the effects of Sculptra become gradually noticeable.
We recommend the you schedule of your Sculptra treatment to schedule your next appointment to maintain your desired look.
